I'm out here trying to make it on my own

it won't be long and I can watch my first child arrive

never forgetting the struggle is a blessing

Joe asked for a verse, but I was focused on percussion
miss me with the rap talk, I'm known for my production
2 years later and I still hadn't written it
but now it’s up to Chris Is to sit down to finish it

understand that waking up at morning is a blessing
as I lay down with my wife for the evening
content that I’ll live the life I'm meant to til I leave it
